Celebrating Women’s History Month

March is the perfect time to celebrate the remarkable women who have shaped, and continue to shape, the world around us—and Warrington is no exception. Each year, this month gives us the opportunity to shine a light on the incredible female talent in our town.

Across Warrington, women are at the helm of businesses, driving the town’s thriving economy. From independent shops and restaurants to businesses and charities led by strong female teams, these women are key players in what makes Warrington unique. Every woman-led business and every female staff member is contributing to the rich, ever-evolving story of our town.

Warrington BID itself is powered by two women, Amy Dawber and Andrea Morley, who are passionate about supporting local businesses and making a real difference in the town. Amy said: “Town and city centres are only as strong as the people and businesses that shape them, and women are leading that change in so many ways. What stands out is the number of women driving businesses forward, from shop owners to those behind the scenes making things happen.”

Andrea added: “BIDs are a great example of women leading real change. Women are running BIDs across the UK, driving regeneration projects, and shaping town centres. At Warrington BID, we work with businesses of all sizes, tackling everything from safety to events that draw people into town. Important dates like these are a chance to highlight the women making things happen in our high streets, often without much recognition.”

So, this March, let’s celebrate every woman who is making a difference in Warrington, from running businesses to creating opportunities and contributing behind the scenes. Their impact is immeasurable, and their contributions are shaping the future of our town. Here’s to the women making history today and inspiring the future.
