Local business leaders are invited to the inaugural Wired Together Business Breakfast, taking place on Wednesday, December 3rd at 8am at Warrington Youth Zone, Dallam Lane.
The event will feature a fireside chat on resilience in business, led by John Roberts, Founder and CEO of AO, in conversation with Dave McNicholl, CEO of Warrington Youth Zone. They will explore what it takes to lead through uncertainty, adapt to change, and build long-lasting success. John will share real-world lessons from steering one of the UK’s best-known online retailers through challenging times.
John founded AO.com in 2000 following a £1 bet with a friend that he couldn’t transform the white goods market. Over twenty-five years later, AO is the UK’s most trusted electricals retailer, employing around 3,000 people. The company also operates one of Europe’s most advanced electrical recycling plants, a nationwide logistics network, and is the largest online mobile phone retailer in the UK.
John is a longstanding supporter of OnSide Youth Zones, having served as Trustee and Chair of the Executive Board, and remains closely involved with the charity, which provides young people across the UK with safe, inspiring, and affordable spaces to enjoy their leisure time.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, Father Christmas will make a special appearance, bringing a seasonal surprise for Wired Together members and helping kick off the season in style.
The breakfast is designed to connect, support, and inspire the town’s business community, offering a new space for conversation, collaboration, and shared learning.
