Warrington Arts Festival 2025 Reveals Exciting Summer Lineup

Warrington Arts Festival, hosted by arts charity Culture Warrington, has unveiled its full summer programme for this year’s town centre takeover. Running from Friday, July 18th to Saturday, July 26th, the festival features largescale, free and family-friendly events from a life-sized knitted house to an unexpected alien encounter. Formerly Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival, the event was relaunched in 2024 to focus on arts, culture, people and place. This year’s lineup continues that vision with imaginative, accessible experiences. A standout event, From Mr Smiths With Love, takes place on Friday, July 18th, when Time Square becomes an open-air dancefloor. Warrington dance artist Stacey Atkinson leads a performance with Night People and a community cast, celebrating the stories and energy of the iconic nightclub. Grandma’s House runs at Parr Hall from Saturday, July 20th to Saturday, July 26th. Created by Chapelford artist Marie Jones, the installation recreates her grandmother’s home in Great Sankey, knitted in neon yarn and suspended from the rigging. Jones also curates Any Body Home, a group exhibition by local and international female artists at Warrington Museum, exploring the concept of home from a female perspective. The Family Garden Party returns to Queens Gardens on Saturday, July 19th and Sunday, July 20th with live music, activities and performances. Highlights include the food and family comedy Do What Ya Mama Told Yah, acrobatics from Farm Yard Circus, The Seedkeepers carnival show and Meadow Sprites, enchanting Japanese style bunraku puppets. On Saturday, July 20th, renowned choreographer Jeanefer Jean-Charles MBE brings Patois to Golden Square, a dance piece exploring heritage and identity. The festival concludes on Saturday, July 26th with Starsaucer by The Dream Engine in Bank Park as aliens and a flying saucer appear through smoke and lights. Also that weekend are street performances by Brazen Brass Band, Warrington’s own samba group Batida Rio, and Motionhouse with their gravity-defying show Urban Astronaut. Warrington Arts Festival 2025 offers something for all ages, blending local creativity with international talent.
