Warrington Food & Drink Festival is coming to Bank Park this weekend, bringing two delicious days of demos, competitions and foodie insights designed to inspire.
Things kick off on Saturday 17th May, with the demo kitchen opening at 12pm. First up is Tom Sallis from Vandal Restaurant & Cocktail Bar, showcasing his cocktail-making skills and sharing tips and tricks for mixing drinks at home.
At 1pm, Cheshire cheese expert Claire Thomas (Cheese with Claire) will guide visitors through the fascinating history of Cheshire cheese, highlighting local producers who continue the tradition today. Expect plenty of tasty samples along the way.
Next, at 1.30pm, explore the intriguing story behind Preston Egg Nog and discover how this local favourite became part of culinary folklore.
Feeling competitive? At 2pm, the popular Man Vs Food sausage-eating competition takes centre stage.
At 3pm, Baked by Nicola presents Bake to the Future, celebrating classic retro cakes while sharing the story behind Warrington’s favourite local bakery.
The first day wraps up at 4pm with Claire Thomas’s guide to crafting the perfect cheeseboard at home, featuring cheeses from Cheshire, Lancashire and a special guest county.
Festival fun continues on Sunday 18th May, starting at 12.15pm with Rob Leicester from Warrington Fruit & Veg sharing the story of his award-winning greengrocers in the heart of Warrington.
At 1pm, David Mooney from Knutsford Sandwich Co will reflect on his 40-year career running restaurants, pubs and bars across the region whilst cooking local produce from Warrington Market retailers.
The sausage-eating challenge returns at 2pm, offering another chance to cheer on brave competitors.
At 3pm, Claire Thomas hosts Cheshire vs Yorkshire: Curd Wars, a delicious blind taste-test competition where visitors decide which cheese wins the day.
Closing the festival at 4pm is Pasta Ferrezza’s pasta-making workshop, a chance to roll up your sleeves and master fresh pasta.
Entry to all demos is free, making it the perfect weekend for Warrington food lovers to enjoy, discover and taste something new.
