Warrington is about to get a dose of humour, creativity and a few cringeworthy moments as the Worst Record Covers in the World exhibition comes to town.
Starting from October 19th, Warrington Museum & Art Gallery will be hosting a showcase of around 500 of the most bizarre and unintentionally funny record sleeves ever produced. Curated by collector Steve Goldman, the exhibition celebrates not just the cringeworthy artwork of these records but also the creative risk behind them.
Steve has spent years collecting these obscure albums and singles, all of which share one thing in common: their design choices went spectacularly wrong, leading to hilarious results.
The exhibition will also give visitors a chance to hear some of the music behind the records – some weird, some amusing, and maybe even a few hidden gems – and vote for their favourite “worst” record cover. This unique exhibition marks the first time Warrington Museum has focused on humour, offering a fun and light-hearted experience for all.
Running until January 19th, it’s a must-see for anyone who loves music, quirky art, or just needs a good laugh. Admission is free, and the Worst Record Covers in the World promises to be a memorable showcase of creative risks that didn’t quite hit the mark but will leave you smiling.
